External batteries recalled by Health Canada banned on Air Inuit flights

For safety reasons, the Government of Canada has recalled certain models of external batteries (power banks) due to fire hazards.

As a result, these specific power bank models are strictly prohibited on all Air Inuit flights:


Reminder:

External batteries are considered spare batteries.
To be accepted as carry-on baggage on Air Inuit flights, any external battery must:

  • Have a rated energy of 160 Wh or less
  • A maximum of 2 batteries is allowed if each has a rated energy between 100 Wh and 160 Wh
  • Be protected and transported in carry-on baggage only — external batteries are not permitted in checked luggage
